Thirty Quips | #30

I turn 30 years old in approximately 30 days.  To celebrate, I’ve decided to do my very best and post something about myself every day (and for those days I might miss, I’ll make up the difference).  These may not be typical “about me” things because I want to include some of the opinions and personal declarations that make me who I am while I’m reflecting back on my 30 years.  Some things you may know, and some you may not.  In writing these things for the next 30 days, I hope to compile a meaningful list of things I enjoy, opinions I feel strongly about, what makes me happy and also what makes me sad.

In no numerical preference or order, I begin with a list of albums I adore so much that I can listen to them all the way through:

  • Modest Mouse, Good News for People Who Love Bad News
  • Billy Joel, The Stranger
  • Mumford and Sons, Babel & Sigh No More
  • Vince Guaraldi Trio, a Charlie Brown Christmas
  • Carla Bruni, Comme si de rien n’etait
  • Ben Harper, Lifeline
  • The Head and the Heart, self-titled
  • Kings of Leon, Come Around Sundown
  • Alison Krauss and Union Station, New Favorite
  • Dixie Chicks, Taking the Long Way
  • Ray Lamontagne, Trouble
  • Foo Fighters, Wasting Light
  • Ryan Adams, Easy Tiger
